Type 4 Billet Sump Assembly – “Tuna Can”

Commonly know as a “Tuna Can” due to its shape, this billet aluminum oil sump extension/trap that mounts to the bottom of all Type 4 engine cases. Made of aluminum, it has the benefit of the same expansion properties as the case its attached to, which reduces the potential for leaks. We recommend adding a this sump extension to all 914, 912E, and Type 4 engines to reduce the likelihood of oil starvation during hard cornering.
