Engine: Billet 74mm crankshaft for Porsche 356 912

Engine: Billet 74mm crankshaft for Porsche 356 912

The SCAT 4340 Chromoly Billet Crankshaft for Porsche 356 and 912 engines is heat treated, precision ground and nitrided for long life and provides superior strength to all factory and aftermarket crankshafts. The counterweights are equipped with knife edges for weight reduction, saving approximately 2 kg. Recommended for all performance builds where the stock rpm limit is exceeded or where the engine will see performance use such as autocross, driver training or track use. A must for racing engines and good for 8000+ rpm, not that you need it.

If you plan to regularly rev your Porsche 356 or 912 engine above 6000 rpm, you should use a C or SC/912 crank without a counterweight, but better yet, upgrade to SCAT's billet 8-10912L crank for the ultimate upgrade for your 616 engine. When you do this, we recommend that you also replace your connecting rods with upgraded forged rods from Carrillo or Pauter to make your bottom end bulletproof.

Features:

  • Superior to all factory and aftermarket crankshafts in material, workmanship and longevity
  • Extra long chrome vanadium dowel pins for stronger flywheel attachment
  • Dynamically balanced and micro-polished
  • Oil galleys are drilled and tapped and a threaded plug is installed to facilitate cleaning
