The Nickies Lite process is offered for limited engines where serious cylinder problems are less common as an economical alternative to conventional block sleeving. The cylinders are overbored, plated and honed back to the original nominal bore, resulting in a hard, low-friction, wear-resistant surface. Direct bore plating provides a superior option for steel or iron sleeves that reduce engine cooling and performance by retaining the original all-aluminium construction.
